(More customer reviews)I have the previous version of this trimmer...or maybe it is a more expensive version. That one has lasted for years but finally an errant drop broke the battery cover. This was bought as a replacement. The power and cutting is similar (actually, a bit better with the fresh sharp blades.) However, the older model had a twist adjustment on the cutting height. That adjustment had more settings and stayed put. This one just uses friction to snap into different positions and it has less settings. If you aren't careful you can snap it into a wrong position, or move the head and suddenly you aren't getting the cut you planned. I'm trying to figure out if I can graft the two together, so I have the adjustment of the old one coupled with the new blades and fixed battery door.
As for the overall tool, it is powerful enough to cut hair as long as it isn't too thick. If you are starting out with long hair you need to whack it back with scissors first, then follow with this trimmer. Otherwise it clogs and you'll never get through it. Love it for keeping beard and sideburns trimmed too.
