(More customer reviews)I received one of these as a Christmas gift along with a badger-hair brush. At first I did not like the clunky look of it, but it does things that other mugs do not. There is a little platform inside the mug that snugly holds a puck of shave soap so that it does not slide around or fall out when you dump the excess water. This little platform centers and elevates the soap slightly so that the excess water pools below the platform and doesn't turn your soap to mush. It is made of a good, solid rubber so that when you drop it in your tile shower, your tiles are safe from damage. It may not be the prettiest thing to look at, but it could be uglier, and you won't find a better lather mug
