(More customer reviews)Is it better than the $20 clipper that you bought at Wal-Mart? YES. It has a powerful motor, a great battery, and it charges in 1 hour. On a full charge, it cuts for about an hour. For me, that means several haircuts per charge (I'm not a barber, just a guy who shaves his head twice a week).
Do you "need" this clipper? Of course not. Spending $200+ on clippers is downright silly. Full disclosure: these clippers ROCK! I don't regret my purchase for a moment.
If you need some reasons to your purchase, here you go:
* It's CORDLESS. Cords suck. You already have a cordless phone, a cordless razor, and a cordless drill. Why not a cordless clipper?
* It looks and feels like a $200+ clipper. It's overpriced, but at least you won't feel like you have been ripped off.
* It has a replaceable battery. Rechargeable batteries fail over time. When this battery fails, you can buy a new one (only $65!!). The battery is Ni-CD, not NiMH or Li-Ion. It's an old technology, but a durable one. Same technology that powers many power tools.
* The blades are replaceable and interchangeable. Want to add a trimming blade? No problem. Switch blades in 20 seconds. No screwdriver required. I don't know why that's cool, but it is. For the record, I have never switched blades.
* You can use it with a cord. A really long cord. Cool.

Thought the first one was a fluke that it only lasted 6 months but the one I have now isn't much better. It doesn't always turn on (switch problems) and the battery doesn't hold a charge very long after about 3 months.

(More customer reviews)Finally, a noise/ear trimmer that works! I have gone through a bunch of trimmers in my time, and I've been disappointed each time. I've tried both electric and manual trimmers but they all seem to either not work or stop working shortly after I purchase them.
This unit has a nice rubberized coating on it for good grip, kinda like a softball bat handle. Its fairly quiet and cuts great. I can cut down my little ugly hairs w/o any tugging or pulling and it gets the thickest to the thinest hairs alike. Maybe its the blade design, it is different from any of the others I've used. The head and blade detach for easy cleaning. The Andis name has been around in North America for decades and makes professional hair styling tools and are considered to have a good reputation.
Now for the bad, the trimmer does feel cheaply built. I would gladly pay double for a quality manufactured unit. Time will tell, and I will update the review if the trimmer succumbs to an untimely death.
Pros: Works Great, trims both thick and thin hairs, low cost, removable blade/head for cleaning, supposedly rust-proof (time will tell), Andis has a great reputation
Cons: Seems fragile (time will tell), poorly made in China

THE PROS
1. very precise cutting
2.quiet clippers
3.more powerful than the oster fast feed
THE CONS
1.they are heavy clipper, so if you self cut your hair i hope you go to the gym because your arms might feel tired.
2. these clippers get extremely hot after 20 minutes of use.
I was naive to the fact that these clippers are really meant for professional barbers. this is the first time that i self cut my hair and i like the results.
PROBLEMS PEOPLE MAY HAVE
1. the clippers are making a clatter loud sound- you have to adjust the clippers by taking a flat head screw driver and i turning the SCREW on the side of the clippers CLOCKWISE until the clattering sound diminishes.
2.the andis masters are not cutting closer than you thought- tpye in youtube how to adjust andis master clipper, that will help.
3. oil the clippers. you get oil wth the masters. this preserves the clipper blades
4. OPTIONAL- by the disenfectant spray because it cools the blade if you spray it on the blade.

I can, however, comment on the quality of the cut. I have extremely sensitive skin and have had to endure the shadow look on my face for a few years as I have left the razor behind and moved to beard and mustache trimmers, but none of them have been able to get as close to a razor as the Andis T-Outliner has. I use it on my head and face and people have begun to doubt my sensitive skin excuse as the quality of the cut looks to be of razor quality. I also dont have to worry about the bumps that would normally appear when a cut is this close.
I have already purchased another set of these as they were on sale as well as some machine oil. NEVER FORGET TO OIL YOUR CLIPPERS. The fate of my beard and mustache trimmers was grim because I didnt oil them as regularly as I should have. I am glad for it now, but imagine how much longer than 4yrs they would have lasted if I had taken proper care of them.

Andis Blade Size 00000 64740 Review

(More customer reviews)My hair style is bald, and this blade definately fits the bill! The #000 and the #1 blades didn't cut short enough for my taste. I even tried the Outliner blade, but the #00000 works best for me.
Man, I tell you! Andis really builds quality equipment. The blade is smooth, very sharp, and shaves my head like butter. The blade feel is not coarse or harsh, but smooth as it glides thru the contours of my head. And it doesn't get hot. Maybe warm to the touch, but never hot like my previous blades.
I definately recommend this blade for completely bald styles or bald fades. Plus, as an added bonus, this blade also fits the Oster 76'ers and the Turbo 111. So, if you're curious, I'm using the Andis BGRC trimmer.

Andis Professional 23965 Pivot Motor Hairclipper Combo Review

(More customer reviews)Since there's no need to talk about how much money you can save by cutting your own hair (or having someone cut it for you), let's cut to the chase...
I don't even remember the last time I went to a barber shop. I've always had my hair cut by my mother and now, for the past 5-years, my girlfriend. This review will not be from a professional stand-point, so please keep that in mind. I also don't use the tools so my review is based on what I've experienced on the receiving end and comments by the two people above.
Before I get started, let me just say that in my weeks of research I've learned that the difference between high-end and low-end models of professional clippers is noise, how cool they stay and motor power/rpm (all should have swappable blades). Besides various attachments, which are practically the same with all trimmers, that's the difference you're paying for in price. Now that I've explained the professional clippers, I just want to say that all of my previous experience was with cheapo "home" versions. The "home" clipper are cheaper, come with more pieces/accessories but they also don't last as long, feel cheap, sometimes they rip out hair and don't cut as quickly.
We've had Oster professional clippers for our dog for about 8-years now that are phenomenal, but they also cost almost $200. After going through so many home versions of clippers, we've finally decided to get professional quality clippers based on experience with the aforementioned model. Our budget was approximately $50 for clippers only. We were pleasantly surprised when we got clippers and trimmer for that price, of quality we were happy with.
These Andis clippers are definitely the best buy we've made thus far. They cut very quickly, so my cut time was shaved by at least 5-minutes. Even going at faster speeds I never felt like my hairs were being pulled. The trimmer/edger on the other hand, although it did a great job of the neck-line is a bit wide for edging around the ears. Scissors still had to be used for that. However my girlfriend liked this Andis Professional combination over everything we've used previously. We kept the trimmer for the neck.
Pros:
- Professional quality w/fast & powerful motor
- Should hopefully last much longer than our older "home" versions
- Makes short time of clipping (no hair pulling!)
- Trimmer does a great job with the neck and sideburns edging
- Clipper has a great "feel" in small and large hands
- 1/16th to 1" attachments
Cons:
- Clippers are slightly loud (no biggie though)
- Edger is too wide for edging around ears
- No taper (side/fade) attachment for clipper or trimmer
The reason I gave a 4-star review is because of the few shortcomings that I listed in the cons (I'd give 4.5 if available). However, having said that, you'd be very hard pressed to find a better clipper/trimmer combination. If you don't think tapers are very important (or willing to get them separately) and if you're willing to edge around the ears by hand, then this is the best combination that I've been able to find for the price. This is definitely a quality product. I highly recommend it.

Andis 13430 Platinum Personal Trimmer Review

(More customer reviews)Years ago Panasonic used to make a trimmer like this one. It didn't have a vacuum attachement or an LED screen to provide useless information, it just worked. It trimmed close enough to use on a single hair, or just for a quick touch up. Somehow through the years they lost thier way. Thier trimmers stopped trimming and this whole vacuum thing came about. Now, I don't know about you, but unless you've got some kind of ingrown mustache up there, I have no idea why you'd need a vacuum attachement to your nose hair trimmer.
The Andis trimmer is inexpensive, simple and most important provides a close painless detail trim just like the old panasonic that I used to use. It's easy to switch on with a nice great big slider switch right where your thumb goes and gets the job done quickly, easily and simply. I highly recommend this trimmer.
Contrary to a previous review that I read, mine has plenty of power, perhaps the reviewer should ask Amazon for an exchange as it sounds like his is defective.

Andis T-Outliner Trimmer Review

(More customer reviews)I just got this liner to replace my Outliner II. Couldn't be more happy in terms of the product itself. I adjusted the blade to a close cut and my lines are perfect. Cant go wrong with Andis.
The only issue I have with the T and the II is the fact that it gets hot really quick. This causes terrible burns. So look to get a cooling spray. It's well worth it.
